AC Milan has announced the signing of a four-and-a-half year contract with striker Krzysztof Piatek of Genoa.

The 23-year-old Polish striker was chosen by head coach Gennaro Gattuso to directly replace Gonzalo Higuain, who ended his loan period with the Juventus club to join Chelsea in a temporary exchange until the end of the season.

Piatek arrived in Genoa seven months ago as Pole Cracovia reported 4 million euros, but he is in very good shape since arriving in Italy, scoring 19 goals in 21 matches.

Genoa is believed to have made huge profits on the Polish international, with undisclosed fees that would be around 35 million euros, and it will remain in San Siro until 30 June 2023.

Piatek will be officially introduced as a Milanese player on Thursday at 1 pm on the club's training ground, Milanello.
