Director Tigmanshu Dhulia announced on Wednesday that the Milan Talkies, with Ali Fazal, Sikander Kher and Shraddha Srinath, would not be released in Pakistan.
The decision comes just days after a suicide bomber launched an explosive SUV on a bus in Pulwama, leaving 40 dead and 40 wounded among CRPF members.
Speaking at the launch of the Milan Talkies trailer, Tigmanshu Dhulia said, "No, it will not be broadcast in Pakistan. For two reasons Firstly, we are in solidarity. Second, piracy comes from Pakistan. So we should never take our films out there for whatever reason. "
The film crew was then asked about the reaction of civilians to the attack.
Ali Fazal said: "During demonetization, we were all economists. Now, this time too, we all have "solutions". But, I think we should trust the army. They do their job. We have a great army and we should stand together because our country comes first. "
Sikander Kher also expressed similar feelings. He said, "It's easy for me to stand here and say: will kill, because I'm not going to kill, right? Again, we only send jawans. So, as Ali rightly said, the army knows what it is going to do. We are all in solidarity. We must let the army decide. We should stop being "gyanis". I will not say: go, kill, because I will not go and do it. We are with them (the armed forces). We completely tolerate what has happened, but let them do what they have to do. "
Shraddha Srinath, who mainly played in the Kannada and Tamil films, made his Bollywood debut with Milan Talkies.
During the event, Shraddha shared his personal experience of being a child of the army.
She said, "My dad served in the military for 30 years. I've heard this news since I was a kid. There were times when we were afraid for my father. We were just waiting for his call to hear his voice and know that he was fine. We saw death very closely. We saw my father's clbadmates die on the ground. We have seen friends become orphans in minutes. This is a very sensitive subject. The army knows what it's doing. The war is easy to say, easy to make movies, but the scene is completely different. We should have an opinion, but we should trust the government and the army. They know what they do. "
The release of Milan Talkies is scheduled for March 15, 2019.
