Along with all the monster fights and the nostalgia of the 80s, relationships play an important role in the third season of Strange things. Millie Bobby Brown has now defended the romance of her character Eleven with Mike Wheeler.
Some fans have insisted that the couple was more dynamic as a best friend than boyfriend and girlfriend, but the 15-year-old actress disagrees, saying that she "always saw her in love".

"It's so much fun, you know, it's really exciting," she says. Digital Spy. "Eleven is full of love and she is so excited for her new relationship with Mike, I think it's just relatable and you can totally see it happening in real life."
Speaking of sharing emotionally intimate scenes with co-star Finn Wolfhard – who gives life to Mike – Millie admitted that it was "very easy" to shoot.
"We were in a safe environment where we felt comfortable with each other," she explained. "It was really fun."

Although Millie may be a fan of Eleven and Mike as a couple, Noah Schnapp's character, Will Byers, does not like the idea, especially because his other friends, Dustin Henderson (Gaten Matarazzo) and Lucas Sinclair (Caleb McLaughlin), have new girlfriends.
"We are no longer kids," Mike shouts in one of the new episodes, after he gets upset that no one seems to want to play Dungeons and Dragons with him these days.
"I mean, what did you think, really, that we would never have girlfriends, that we're just sitting in my basement playing games for the rest of our lives?"
Mike, severe. Hard.
Strange things 3 is currently streaming on Netflix.
