The future of James Milner in Liverpool is uncertain as the veteran revealed that he was is still waiting to hear about possible contractual negotiations.
Milner is out of contract at the end of the season and could be settled for an exit from Anfield, where he arrived in free transfer in 2015.
The 33-year-old versatile player, who helped Liverpool win the Champions League last season, said he had not heard from the club regarding a possible new deal.
"In the current state of things, we talked to the club and asked them if they wanted to do something and they said no then," Milner told the British media.
"We have not heard anything since, so we are at it.
"All I can do is concentrate on my football and do what I can, but in terms of my contract, that's what happened until I get to the point. now I have heard nothing from the club. "
Milner has made at least 40 appearances in all competitions during each of his four seasons in Liverpool, including 45 times in 2018-19.
The former English international, regularly congratulated by manager Jurgen Klopp, hopes to continue playing.
"Everyone is talking about my age and my business [and] I understand you're going to get it, "said Milner.
"There are three things to that: availability, fitness and performance level, and I hope to be able to deliver all three."
