Kojo Oppong-Nkrumah has launched the call during a diaspora tour in Coventry, United Kingdom
Ghanaians and other Africans in the diaspora were urged to return, explore and participate in the 2019 celebrations for the month of July in Accra.
Information Minister Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, who launched the appeal for a Ghanaian diaspora tour in Coventry, UK, said the invitation was important as it gave the diasporas This is an opportunity to seize the many opportunities created by the Akufo-Addo-led administration.
Mr. Nkrumah said: "Throughout the history of Ghana's history, Ghanaians in the diaspora have contributed significantly to the major eras of our development."
"Over the past decade, Ghanaians, both as individuals and as a nation-state, have relied heavily on you to help the economy in their country through remittances, complementary development projects and specialized skills, "he said.
The legislator of Ofoase Ayirebi said that the current government is now implementing a number of programs aimed at improving the quality of life of many Ghanaians after using the first two years to repair the fundamentals of the economy.
"The Akufo-Addo administration has worked to achieve this goal through what we call flagship programs. And we have 16, "he added.
He said President Akufo-Addo was creating an opportunity for the people of Ghana, both at home and abroad, and challenged the diaspora community to seize these opportunities.
He said: "Having launched programs including social protection programs that aim to improve the quality of life of the majority of our population, the government will continue to boost agriculture, industry and services so that they continue to experience strong growth of our people and bring a value of income to our people. "
He revealed that President Akufo-Addo had created the Diaspora Affairs Office in the president's office with the aim of removing bottlenecks and allowing the community to easily connect to the homeland. Development policy aimed at attracting and encouraging Ghanaians to showcase their technical skills, money and investment opportunities at home to stimulate growth and development.
The 2019 Ghanaian Diaspora Celebration and Reunion Summit is a four-day event to recognize and celebrate the immense contributions the Ghanaian diaspora has made to nation building.
