Education Minister Dr Yaw Adutwum, Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, Supreme Leader of Tepa, Nana Adusei Atwenewa Ampem I, and seventeen others were honored in a special ceremony at Tepa in the Ashanti region on Saturday.
The award ceremony, which featured two categories, saw Education Minister Asantehene and Tepamanhene honored for their support for the development of education in Tepa and the country as a whole, while the other laureates were also honored for their contribution in various ways to the socio-economic development of Tepa and its surrounding communities.
Dr Adutwum and the Tepamanhene were present to receive their quotes. The Asantehene Prize was received by Barima Ogyeabour Amankwa Adunan I, Supreme Leader of Kuntanase who represented the Asantehene.
The other laureates were five politicians and 12 clergymen of various origins for their role in the development of Tepa and the socio-economic development of Ghana also received a plaque.

The annual awards ceremony was organized by the Divine Key Believers Network-Ghana in collaboration with Prince Hampel World Outreach (UK) and the Tepa Local Council of Churches to recognize individuals who have distinguished themselves in social development -economic of the region and the rest of the country.
Dr Yaw Adutwum, in his brief remarks, expressed his deep gratitude to Tepamanhene and other organizers for the honor bestowed upon him.
He commended Asantehene for its leading role in the development of education in the Ashanti region and the country in general and also commended Tepahene for its vision to promote the development of education in its region and has called on other leaders to emulate this good initiative by complementing the government’s efforts to transform the country through education.
The Minister of Education stressed that the development of a good education requires the collective effort of the different facets of the economy and therefore called on all to make their contribution to achieve such a feat.
He said, “Although the government will do everything possible to provide the necessary resources for the development of education if all stakeholders do not play their collective roles, it would be very difficult to achieve the right results.”

Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum, Minister of Education, who is also MP for Bosomtwe in Ashanti region, was appointed Deputy Minister of Education during the 1st term of Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo government.
