The Minister of Health, Hon. Kwaku Agyeman-Manu instructed members of the new Board of Directors of the Medical and Dental Council (MDC) to work diligently to bring pride to Ghana and the Ministry of Health.
He was happy that the 10th MDC Board, which was fortunate to have some of the 9th Board members reinstated, arrived with a great deal of experience from the previous Board.
This, according to Mr. Agyeman-Manu, will be very profitable and useful, being optimistic about their excellent performance.
The new MDC Board of Directors is chaired by Professor Paul Kwame Nyame, with Dr Constance Addo-Yobo, Dr Ernest Yorke, Ms Rebecca Bantey and Ms Stella Otema Badu, representing dental, medical, medical and licensed anesthetists assistants , and the lawyer -General Department respectively as members.
The others were Prof. Margaret Lartey, from training institutions, Honorable Mahama A. Seini, Ministry of Health, Mr. Samuel Adjapong, a lay male representative, HE Cecilia Gyan Amoah, lay female representative and Dr Divine Ndonbi Banyubala , Acting MDC Registrar and Table Secretary.
The Chairman of the Board, Professor Paul Kwame Nyame, noted in his acceptance speech that the Board has a young executive with several opportunities for innovation and transformation.
“They will be supported by other older members who bring a bank of institutional memory, with lifelong work experience,” he said.
Professor Nyame expressed his gratitude to the Hon. Agyeman-Manu for inaugurating the Council and said that the constitution of the Council demonstrates a deep appreciation for the history, vision and mission of the MDC.
