The Minister of Health and Medical Services, Dr. Ifereimi Waqainabete, yesterday launched the "Anti-Bite Campaign" in Waidamudamu village in Nakasi.

During the first four months of this year, the Ministry of Health recorded 1894 suspected cases of dengue fever throughout the country, in which 199 subdivisions of the Rewa Subdivision had been confirmed.

"Waidamudamu Settlement has registered five positive cases of dengue," said Dr. Waqainabete.

It was during the first quarter of this year.

"Your participation in these clean-up campaigns demonstrates your commitment to actively participate in the fight against dengue," said Dr. Waqainabete.

"And it is high time that we all take responsibility for destroying and eradicating mosquito breeding grounds before another loved one becomes a victim of the dengue virus."

Ministry staff and their health facilities, rich in information, have been mobilizing for four months to try to combat and reduce dengue cases in the country.

"We remain fearless and determined to provide essential public health services such as this program today," said the Minister of Health.

"We will continue to work effectively with all communities to ensure we minimize the risk of anyone contracting dengue fever."

Dr. Waqainabete urged the residents of Waidamudamu Settlement to take the initiative to clean and take care of their premises to prevent breeding grounds for mosquitoes.

"We urgently need these community-led cleanup campaigns," he said.

Waidamudamu Settlement spokesman, Mehbad Ali, said he was pleased with the Talanoa meeting with the minister, who was to bring a garbage collection truck to collect garbage and garbage.

"We are happy that trucks go to the colony once a week to collect garbage for an affordable $ 2 per household," said Ali.

"I advise residents here to use and abide by this rule to avoid maximum penalties for fines that would result in an increase in community health problems."
