Black Fridayyyy More than 50 pbadengers died in an accident involving two buses on the Techiman-Kintampo road

The minority in Parliament hopes that the Ministers of Roads and Roads, Transport and the Interior will be convened to answer questions about the growing rate of road accidents in the country.

According to the minority, the committee charged with investigating the cause of road accidents did not make its findings public.

The president Nana Akufo-Addo constituted in 2018 the committee composed of the Minister of the Interior; the Minister of Roads and Roads and the Minister of Transport following the fatal accident that killed the life of a Ghanaian artist, Priscilla Opoku-Kwarteng, known as Ebony Reigns.

A few months later, the President revealed that the report had been finalized with the contribution of the Police Council and provided for immediate action to end the carnage on Ghana's roads.

However, Kwame Governs Agbodza, spokesperson for minority transport, who is concerned about the loss of life on the country's roads, believes that parliamentary intervention will be needed to force the committee to implement its recommendations.

"We will compel these three ministers to appear before Parliament and present the content of the report they presented to the President, and make it public in order to improve road safety in this country. None of the things we see so far gives anybody an inclination as to what the [report] is about. I think Parliament will do a better job of forcing these ministers to go to Parliament and give us an idea of what they have done. So, we can all examine and determine whether this is appropriate or if we should do more, "he told Eyewitness News.

The comments of the MP for Adaklu'a follow a series of bloody accidents in Kintampo and Ekumfi-Dunkwa on Friday, which killed about 70 people.

"What is the content of the letter presented to the president that he approved and which he recommended to implement? We do not know. But if they inform us about it, we can take additional measures and even if we have to change or amend the law, we will do it to save lives. "
