Francis Ennor, MOFA regional director for the Upper East, who informed the Mirror on Thursday, suggested that although the two companies have been blacklisted, this should not affect fertilizer supply , especially in the region.
The director said that a list is being developed to provide fertilizer to vulnerable groups such as young people and women who are practicing agriculture but are not able to access it. these fertilizers.
According to him, the fertilizers were kept in a warehouse of the Upper East Regional Coordinating Council.
Mr. Ennor explained that the two truck drivers had already been arrested by the police but had been released after investigations.
He noted that the two blacklisted companies may not be allowed to participate in future government flagship programs.
The government decided to subsidize fertilizer under the YFFP to help increase food production in order to reduce high food imports into the country.
The government has this year marked its subsidized fertilizers to facilitate their identification in order to curb contraband.
