This was announced by the special adviser of the sector minister, Mr. Oliver Boachie, during a consultation meeting with the main stakeholders of the ministry in Accra on Wednesday.

The commercialization of research involves the translation of ideas, technologies, innovations and proposed solutions for specific problems related to a scientist research on marketable products and capital gains for the public.

The department leads the marketing by operating a national secretariat, known as the Ghana Innovation and Research Marketing Center (GIRC-Center), which will bring together all existing and future research.

The initiative should strengthen the partnership between government, public research institutes, industries, universities and the private sector and ensure that collaboration improves productivity and national development.

Stakeholder engagement

The consultative engagement is part of the preparations for launching the GIRC Center in September.

Meeting stakeholders included policy creatorsresearchers, research institutions and development partners.

The long-term goal of the initiative is to make the GIRC-Center, MESTI's lead government agency, which coordinates all collaborative scientific research projects and public-private partnerships (PPPs) related to science, technology and technology. and innovation (STI).
