On Friday July 2, NDC deputies stormed Parliament with red armbands in solidarity with the victims of military brutality in Ejura and Wa.

Speaking to Kasapa News after the debates, Ellembele MP Emmanuel Kofi Armah Buah said the general insecurity situation in the country was the reason why the NDC is launching such a protest.

He argued that the police department’s statement that they cannot ensure the safety of their planned protest will not stop the protest for justice.

According to the former energy minister, the government can deploy the military to attack protesters, but that will not deter the NDC.

“… I think anyone who loves this country has to express their anger, that this is not acceptable. We cannot allow the security men to target innocent civilians and kill them just because they want to protest.

“Nothing will stop this demonstration. In fact, they can bring in soldiers, the demonstration will continue. ”

Meanwhile, Defense Minister Dominic Nitiwul revealed that a committee has already been sent to Wa for a fact-finding mission.

According to him, the soldiers will have to apologize to the inhabitants of Wa and the wounded taken care of by the government.

The first vice-president Joseph Osei-Owusu, who chaired, therefore ordered the Defense and Home Affairs Committee to investigate the matter and report to the House within 4 weeks.
