Tidal and Apple Music are exclusive music when it comes to streaming music services. But electronic music legend Moby has a different approach to releasing his latest album.
Fans wanting to get hold of Moby's "Long Ambients 2" can only be downloaded by Calm meditation app.
The album is a follow-on to Moby's 2016 "Long Ambients 1" (funny that!). It's a 37-minute production, and includes six ambient tracks designed to help you chill and zone out.
"I originally made these songs for myself because I could not find this type of music anywhere," Moby said. "Long Ambients 2 was designed to help me sleep and get help. I hope to share it with other people who have a lot of time and a lot of time.
It's time to relax …
For those who have never used Calm before, it's a meditation app designed to, well, help you calm down. Alongside Moby's new album, you can get an badortment of exclusive music and soundtracks. These include everything from original ambient compositions to nature sounds and white nice.
There are also breathing exercises, guided exercises on mindfulness, and Sleep Stories narrated by the likes of Stephen Fry.
Calm most definitely has Apple's stamp of approval. It was the company's App of the Year back in 2017, and remains one of the most downloaded apps in the meditation category. "If you tend to have a hard time falling asleep, or a habit of crawling into bed and angry firing off angry tweets at people who are wrong on the internet, you might consider adding the app's whimsical sleep stories to your nightly routine," Apple has previously noted.
Calm is available for download for a few dollars per month.
