Mohamed Salah has hinted that he wants to extend his contract at Liverpool after saying he wants to break “all club records”.
But the Egyptian is open-minded about his future after refusing to rule out a move to La Liga title contenders Real Madrid or Barcelona.
The 28-year-old has been in sparkling scorer form this season with 14 goals in 20 appearances and has scored in each of Liverpool’s last four games.
This month, Salah broke Steven Gerrard’s record for most Champions League goals for Liverpool, one of the many benchmarks he has reached since arriving at Anfield in the summer of 2017.
And the forward has indicated he wants to be there to set more standards when asked how long he wants to stay with the Reds.
“It’s tough, but at the moment I can say it’s all in the hands of the club,” said Salah.
“Of course I want to break records here, all club records, but it’s all in the hands of the club.
“I think I broke a few records, I wish I could break all the club records, that would be good.
“But the team is above all records. But as long as you keep breaking records and winning games, that’s great too.”
Salah, however, stopped before ruling out a move to two of Spain’s main sides in an interview with Spanish media AS.
“I think Madrid and Barcelona are top clubs,” he said.
“We never know what’s going to happen in the future, but for the moment I am focused on winning the Premier League and Champions League again with my club.”

Heading into this weekend’s games, Salah led the Premier League goalscoring chart alongside Dominic Calvert-Lewin of Everton and Heung-Min Son of Tottenham Hotspur with 11 goals.
And asked if he could claim a third Golden Boot in four years, he said, “I don’t know. I don’t mean that just yet.
“But, yeah, I’m still trying to score goals to help the team win the game. There’s a good chance you’ll be a third top scorer again.
“But the most important thing is to win something, to win the big trophies with the team. That’s the most important.”
Salah, however, admitted he was upset to be overlooked for the role of captain in the rubber Champions League death against FC Midtjylland last week when a very changed Liverpool side were coached by Trent Alexander-Arnold. .
“Honestly, I was very disappointed,” he said. “I expected to be the captain. But it’s a manager’s decision, so I accept it.”
