Five players are expected to face the end of the season for the Golden Boot Premier League.
Sergio Aguero of Man City is currently leading the pack with 19 league goals for the campaign after his team's 2-0 win over Fulham on Saturday afternoon.
The Argentinian hitman, who had already won the gong in the 2014/15 season, could well add Wednesday night with the defending champions against Cardiff City at home.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Harry Kane have more than two goals in advance on the last push. Liverpool duo Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane also have 17 goals this season.
Salah has suffered a bit of a goal-scoring nightmare in recent weeks with just one goal in his last 11 appearances in all competitions for the Reds.
However, he played a key role in his team's late win over the Spurs on Sunday afternoon, with Hugo Lloris putting his head on Toby Alderweireld.
Sending to Sky Sports after the match, last season's winner, Golden Boot, was quizzed on his recent form and was a bit clever like Aguero, Aubameyang and Kane.
"I have not scored for a few games, but some players have the same number of goals as me, but some say that these players have the best season of their lives," he said.
"There are three or four players and no one talks about it – they say that they have a good season and I am the only one to have had a bad season.
"I want to win the Premier League – that's the most important thing for me."
Aguero is the current favorite to win the prize with Sky Bet giving him a score of 5/4, with Salah not far behind at 3/1.
Kane and Aubameyang are priced at 7/2 and 6/1 respectively.
