In the video, the lady was seen walking with her son and siblings by the side of the road when the alleged kidnapper got out of his car and picked up the boy on the sidewalk.
The suspect quickly placed the boy in the backseat of the car while his accomplice sits in the front ready to leave with the boy.
The brave mother quickly walked over to the kidnappers’ car and pulled the boy out of the window. The suspect quickly left after their plan failed.
Speaking in a media interview, Dolores Diaz Lopez said she was on her way to visit her husband at work with her children when the incident occurred.
“I don’t know why it happened. I have never seen these people. You have to do what is necessary, no matter what. The car was just parked there. I never imagined that a man would get out of the car and grab my son. You should always be aware of your surroundings and not be on the phone ”, he said.
However, one of the suspects identified as 24-year-old James McGonagle was arrested and charged with attempted kidnapping, reckless endangerment and acting in a manner harmful to a child under 17. years.
Meanwhile, the New York Police Department has issued a search warrant for the second suspect involved in the attempted kidnapping of a 5-year-old boy.
