Monchi, technical director of Arsenal, expresses on the links of gunners

Monchi, target of Arsenal, says that it is a "pleasure" to be badociated with the Gunners.

Currently aged 50, he is currently director of football in Roma. He was offered to replace Sven Mislintat in North London.

The Arsenal recruiter will leave the club on February 8, after only 14 months in the job.

Among the most successful achievements of Germany include Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Henrikh Mkhitaryan.

Rumors have circulated that Mislintat and Unai Emery were not in agreement on the club's transfer plans, but these have not been confirmed.

Monchi had previously worked for Emery in Seville and would be at the top of Arsenal's list of candidates for a new technical director position.

The Spaniard, whose contract with the giants of Serie A is in force until 2020, has now spoken of Arsenal ties.

"I know my name is badociated with Arsenal, but I focus on my work with the Roma," he told The Sun newspaper.

"However, it's a pleasure to be badociated with a club like Arsenal – but that's not the first time that has happened."

Before leaving his post at Arsenal, Mislintat said on the club's official website: "It was an amazing experience working at a big club like Arsenal at a time of great change.

"I am excited about what the future holds for the club and I look forward to new challenges."
