Montreal knife attack injures three

Three people were injured in a stabbing attack in Quebec, Canada; the suspect has been arrested, reports the Montreal Gazette.

The stab wounds took place in the Côte-des-Neiges – Notre-Dame-de-Grâce neighborhood in Montreal at around 3:00 p.m. local time on Sunday (7:00 p.m. GMT), the newspaper said citing police spokeswoman Véronique Comtois .

Three people, two women and a man, were taken to hospital with injuries. A suspect was arrested and was also taken to hospital with injuries, police said.

According to CTV, one of the two injured women is in critical condition.

The causes of the stab wounds remain unknown and no details have been disclosed on the nature of the object used in the attack.
