Former President John Dramani Mahama badured the youth of huge jobs during his second coming, probably in 2021.

He accused the Akufo-Addo-led government of repudiating his promises made to Ghanaians prior to the 2016 election, leaving citizens with rising levels of poverty creating anxiety, stress and depression.

In a Facebook post viewed by MyNewsGh.com, he said, "We knew the NPP had no intention of honoring its noble promises, but the scale of the regression is incredible. We can not in all conscience leave the current state of things without getting up to do my part. I am ready, very ready! I am ready to work hard to provide jobs for our youth and reduce the cost of living high in the country "

We see the cracks in the foundations of our economy. The nuclear power plant has told great stories, with noble rhetoric, about the prospects of our economy. They went to town after my administration's decision to seek financing for infrastructure projects by borrowing on the capital markets.

However, when we did, it involved the use of well-planned and well-managed credit facilities to modernize our struggling physical infrastructure to meet the needs of a modern middle-income economy. .

The fruits of these efforts are visible throughout the country – in new clinics and district hospitals, in affordable housing, in new roads and railways, in our increased energy production capacity, in the mechanization of our agriculture, in our access to the supply of drinking water, in telecommunications, in our aviation sector.

All of this and so much more has been made possible by our well thought-out political agenda – so much so that the government has had to divert our plans to order them and put them back into service everywhere.

Our government favored the principle of popularity and strove to make decisions about each pesewa borrowed as such.

Today, Ghanaians pay a lot more for fuel and transportation than they paid for the NDC. Unemployment among our youth continues to rise in the context of bankruptcies and business failures. When they were promised easier savings with import duty reductions, importers ended up paying a lot more than they'd ever paid under the NDC. Business badociations continue to lament the impact of the plethora of taxes on their businesses.

Our people are suffering

Increasing levels of poverty creates anxiety, stress and depression. We knew that the NPP did not intend to respect its noble promises, but the magnitude of the regression is incredible.

We can not in all conscience leave the current state of things without getting up to do my part.

I am ready, very ready! I am willing to work hard to provide jobs for our youth and reduce the cost of living high in the country.
