More than a thousand new technology companies are expected to benefit from a digital business program this year.

The Ghana Digital Enterprise Program is a partnership between the government and the American technology company Oracle, which will help startups to develop and maintain their digital skills.

The partnership between the government and Oracle will provide mentoring to selected IT startups.

Companies will also receive Oracle resources to build capacity and expand their business.

Startups should present their ideas to a panel to receive this support.

Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia, Vice President of the Commission, said the partnership was part of the government's digitization program.

"The people and government of Ghana do not know the benefits and advances of the digital era. We adopt and adopt a new technology model with an open mind, "he said.

For her part, Maria Foney, startup director of Oracle's Global Startup Ecosystem, said her decision to choose Ghana as the top spot in Africa for the startup program was due to the country's creative potential.

She said, "As important as these larger entities are to Ghana's economy, we must not neglect the critical role that early-stage development plays in creating jobs, strengthening the economy, and providing unique solutions to some of the challenges the most pressing in the world.

Beneficiary companies should use technology to solve some of the country's problems in various sectors, including education, health, environment, and agriculture. Some of the selected startups presented their ideas to a panel at the launch.

Minister of Communications Ursula Owusu Ekuful said the partnership would promote digital inclusion in the country.
