Vandalized school grounds at Tumu High Technical High School
Tumu High Technical High School, in the far west of Ghana, was closed after students were vandalized.
The students destroyed properties, including teaching bungalows, lighting and water supply systems worth several thousand Cedis from Ghana.
They were protesting the arrest of their colleagues who had been arrested for cheating during the WASSCE exam with mobile phones.
They also stormed the residence of the director, the head master, and also visited members of his staff to terror, media reported.
East Sissala MEC, Karim Nayo, said the protesting students also destroyed electrical appliances, among other things.
The police also confirmed the arrest.
