The Ghana Mortuary Workers' Association announced that it would begin a national strike as of May 2, 2019, following unsuccessful settlement of their claims.
According to the badociation, the strike must show their dissatisfaction with what they describe as a reluctance of governments to respond to their demands.
Earlier this year, workers went on a similar strike to protest poor working conditions and low wages.
In a radio interview with Accra-based Citi FM, the secretary general of the Mortuary Workers Association, Richard Jordan, said he now meets with the FWSC (Equitable Wages Commission), but that it would not change their position on the beach.
"As we said, the strike goes off 2North Dakota Can. To date, nothing has been brought to our attention.
He added that they would be present at the May Day celebration and that they would begin their strike the next day.
