(Reuters) – Former Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho plans to return to club management during the closing season in June. He has an idea of the type of club he wants to take over, said the Portuguese.
Mourinho has been unemployed since he was sacked by United in December after a series of dismal results that left the club sixth in the Premier League standings, 19 points behind the league leader, Liverpool.
"What I think is that I would like to come back in the summer, in June, to a new club, for a new pre-season," Mourinho told BeIN Sports.
"I know exactly what I do not want, that's why I had to say no to three or four different offers, and I know what I want, with respect not to a specific club but to the nature of the work, the dimension of the work ".
Mourinho had said in January that he was not sure to run another club in England after stints with Chelsea and United.
Aged 56, however, he was ruled out to take the reins of a national team because he prefers the daily job of being a club director.
"I do not think so," said Mourinho, when asked when he would take charge of a national team. "I think that working in a national team is a very specific job.
"I like everyday football, I love daily work, I like a lot of competitions, I love matches and I want to stay at the level of the football club." But who knows? "
