Staff of the hotel Mövenpick Ambbadador in Accra have deposited their tools in protest of what they describe as a racist treatment that they were inflicted on the hotel management.
The staff, which numbered about 100 people, camped Wednesday afternoon at the hotel reception, camping amidst drums and war songs.
They insisted that they would not return to their position until the hotel's general manager, Michael Rathgeb – whom they accused of having overseen the racist treatment, be sacked.
Abandoned hotel guests without staff to help them joined the media to attend the event.

Some staff members who spoke Online chart alleged that Ghanaian workers were severely treated and fired by the hotel when they committed crimes such as "stealing pens", while expatriate employees were released when they stole guests .
They also claimed that an expatriate employee who had stolen gold bullion from a guest remains an employee of the hotel even after her arrest by the police.
