Dr. Vasan Ramachandran, Professor Jay and Louise Coffman in Vascular Medicine at the School of Medicine at Boston University (BUSM), delivered Dr. William B. Dr. Ramachandran has addressed the fundamental concepts of cardiovascular disease risk (CVD) and the critical contributions to understanding these risks over the past six decades.
Ramachandran joined BUSM as an badociate professor of medicine in 1998 and was promoted to professor in 2006. He was appointed professor of epidemiology at the BU School of Public Health in 2013. He currently holds the position of chief of the Section of Preventive Medicine and Epidemiology at the Department of Medicine, Principal Investigator and Director of the Framingham Heart Study, to which he has been affiliated for 19 years and was the founding editor of Circulation: Cardiovascular Genetics.
He graduated as a physician and completed his residency in Internal Medicine and his Research Fellowship in Cardiology at the Institute of Medicine Sciences of India, New Delhi, India.
