MOVES-Jefferies hires bankers to develop in the fields of transport and logistics

July 8 (Reuters) – Jefferies Financial Group Inc. has hired a group of bankers from BB & T Corp. to expand its investment banking coverage in the logistics and transportation sector, according to people close to the case.

New York – based investment bank hired Keith Prusek and Hugh Rabb as chief executive officers and global co – heads of investment banking in the logistics and transportation sectors, the sources said. .

Karl Kirkeby, senior vice president of BB & T, also joins Jefferies as senior vice president, as well as five junior bankers specializing in logistics and transportation, added the same sources. They will all be based in Richmond, Virginia, where Jefferies is creating an office, according to sources.

Jefferies declined to make an official comment.

These additions are part of a wave of new hires for Jefferies, which has placed industry at the center of recent staff growth. The industrial group now has 145 bankers.

Last month, Reuters announced that Jefferies hired Glenn Riedman, Co-Head of the Royal Bank of Canada's Industrial Investment Bank.

Prusek and Rabb both have more than 15 years of experience in investment banking. Prior to BB & T, Prusek worked for SunTrust Banks Inc. and Rabb worked for Harris Williams.
