He expressed admiration for the progress Ghana has made in the area of ​​governance and is pleased that he shares his experiences with Mozambique.

President Nyusi made the call when Eric Odoi-Anim, Ghana's ambbadador to Zimbabwe and simultaneously accredited to Mozambique, presented him with his credentials in Maputo, Mozambique.

He recalled Ghana's skills as a torchbearer in the fight against colonialism, which has achieved the political independence of most African countries.

The Mozambican president also called on Ghana to consider establishing a resident mission in Maputo.

Mr. Odoi-Anim, for his part, said that the current global economic outlook calls for closer economic cooperation, including the development of trade links among African countries, in the mutual interest.

He called for the intensification of trade between the two countries and committed to accelerate the work of the Joint Technical Committee which will be a precursor and an essential element of the creation of a permanent joint commission on cooperation between Ghana and Mozambique.

The Ambbadador of Ghana called for educational exchanges and research collaboration between higher education and research institutions in both countries.

He said that Ghana was eager to share its governance experiences with Mozambique and that Ghana's mission would therefore promote cooperation between the various government bodies in Ghana and Mozambique.

Mozambique is the only member country of the Commonwealth, which was not a former British colony.
