Members of the Legislative Assembly of Ghana have expressed concern about the long sitting hours in the House and their health implications.
Speaking on behalf of his colleagues, the Chief Whip and Member of Parliament of Asawase, Alhaji Mubarak Muntaka felt that the practice according to which the executive submitted to the House a bill of last minute for review, deliberation and approval during the last week of bad session for health.
According to Alhaji Muntaka, the long working hours of the last few days posed a health risk for legislators and one wondered why successive governments over the years had waited and hurried to table a bill in the House a few days before to get up.

He added that the executive branch could not prevent legislators from working at the last minute.
The Ghanaian Times newspaper reported that the Speaker of Parliament, Professor Aaron Oquaye, had agreed that there should be a symbiotic relationship between the executive and the legislature.

Parliament's Business Committee proposed to Parliament to suspend its work on April 12, 2019, and called on the executive not to ruin the House with bills of eleven hours before it gets up.
