On Wednesday May 5, 2021, the MTN Ghana Foundation donated personal protective equipment (PPE) to St. Gregory Catholic Hospital in Buduburam to help the health facility fight against the coronavirus pandemic (Covid- 19).
Since the start of 2021, the Foundation has continued to provide support to healthcare facilities and high schools while remaining committed to helping the government in the fight against Covid-19.
Thanks to donations to Tema General Hospital and Korle Bu University Hospital in April, MTN Ghana Foundation stopped this week at Buduburam in Kasoa to reach out to health workers at Catholic hospitals in St. Gregory.
The hospital received PPE including boxes of face masks, coveralls, hand gloves, non-contact thermometers as well as gallons of 99% methyl alcohol.
Engaging the media after presenting the articles to hospital officials, Jemima Kotei Walsh, MTN’s customer service manager, noted that her outfit hopes the articles will not only help workers at the health facility, but also protect residents who visit the hospital to receive health care. .
“Today, we have [brought] some PPE to help healthcare workers protect them from COVID-19 disease. So we have gloves, hand sanitizers, heat guns, coveralls and other items to support the frontline workers and the whole community as the patients come here from the community and the surrounding area. So to help protect everyone in these difficult times, ”she noted.
Having received the items on behalf of St. Gregory Catholic Hospital, Reverend P. Daniel Ganu, which is Chaplin Hospital, expressed his gratitude to MTN Ghana Foundation.
He said that in the midst of the pandemic, the articles will go a long way in helping the health facility better provide health care to people in Buduburam and surrounding areas.
“We express our sincere gratitude to MTN for bringing these items to facilitate the delivery of health care to the people of Buduburam and surrounding areas. The articles come at a very crucial time when the fight against COVID-19 is underway.

Pastor Daniel Ganu took the opportunity to appeal to Ghanaian businesses and individuals able to follow MTN’s gesture and help set up more infrastructure and purchase x-ray equipment to help the hospital. .
After the PPE donation today, the MTN Ghana Foundation does not stop. According to the main providers of communication networks, it is planned to support other hospitals and high schools in the coming months.
