The National Peace Council has called on the government to speed up the implementation of the report of the committee to investigate the disturbances in Ejura.

Council President Reverend Ernest Adu Gyamfi said they had engaged Home Secretary Ambrose Dery behind closed doors on the issues.

“These are things that we do behind closed doors, and this is the area where people don’t seem to understand.

“They expect us to say publicly that we have done this or to tell someone to do it. We are going behind closed doors to appeal to them, ”he said.

In the Council’s opinion, the delay is creating tensions among young people in the region.

“This thing is delaying, the delaying process creates a situation of tension, and people don’t understand why, so can you speed up the process.” Can you bring clarity to that so that people can understand what’s going on, ”he explained.

Reverend Adu Gyamfi also called on young people to remain calm as processes are underway to comply with the recommendations contained in the report.

“We want to ask them to be a little patient and then wait and see the end of the process. Of course, once there is a commission, there is a report; he can’t just die. But, certainly, there will be a release, and we have to be patient until we get there, ”he added.
