BABIES TADI Mawusi Rose Fiaku and her boyfriend Lawson Lartey

Lawyer of one of the suspects involved in the abduction of the 12-month-old boy at the Takoradi market circle, Emmanuel Kofi Arthur said that his client had no knowledge of the stolen boy.

According to him, his client, Lawson Lartey, was misled by the circumstances. His girlfriend, Mawusi, would have told him about his pregnancy and his baby, while he (Lawson) was abroad.

He added that Mawusi had continued to give his client the impression that she was pregnant and that she had been giving birth for a year and a month.

Lawyer Arthur, who was speaking on Star FM, based in Accra, said that after returning from the trip, he had begun to demand to see his son that after three days of heavy pressure, Mawusi returned with the flight of one year. old baby.

"After three days, Miss Mawusi brought the child and, naively, he also believed that it was his son after four months. He even named the boy Ibrahim for joy and stupidly started parading that he is my son, "he said.

He added that "we all behave stupid sometimes and therefore Mr. Lartey should not be punished for what happened."

He further argued that, since Miss Mawusi had pled guilty to stealing the child, Mr. Lartey should not be punished for keeping the child in his care, as he had been led to believe that He was the father of the boy.

The court remanded the two men into custody so that they reappear on April 5, after Mawusi pleaded guilty to all charges and asked the judge to have mercy on her. because of her pregnancy.

The court then ordered the police to perform a pregnancy test on Mawusi in a licensed health facility.
