Mahama fights six other candidates to lead the NDC in the 2020 general election
Former President John Dramani Mahama dispelled rumors that his family objected to the idea that he is challenging Ghana again.
He said that this information was false and that there had never been a meeting in his family that discussed his ambition to become president again.
Speaking on Radio Gold in Accra, Mahama said the rumor was related to his younger brother and business mogul, Ibrahim Mahama.
"I want to say that there was never a meeting in the Mahama family that prevented my decision to challenge again," he said.
John Mahama will compete against six other candidates to lead the NDC in the 2020 general election.
The polls, which should take place tomorrow, have Professor Joshua Alabi, Dr. Ekow Spio-Garbrah, Alban Bagbin, Goosie Tanoh and Sylvester Mensah, all on the vote.
The former president also said that one of the greatest services that a person can render to his country is to come forward to serve, hence his decision to challenge again.
