Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp could not believe the size of new recruit Sepp van den Berg at his first meeting.
Last week, it was announced that the Dutch central defender would sign for the champions of Europe. He has now joined the team for pre-season training.
Upon his arrival, he was filmed by the club's videographers, who captured his brief conversations with Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and then his new manager.
It was Oxlade-Chamberlain who first greeted this 17-year-old man before Klopp came in and said right away, "My God, you're great. It's impressive. "
Van den Berg outclbaded the German, who is rarely dominated by his size.
The pair then spoke and joked for a short while before Klopp said, "Let's get started."
After his first day at Melwood, Van den Berg told Liverpoolfc.com: "It's great. When I came in, I was very nervous, but I talked to the players and the staff and I felt at home. It feels good.
"Everyone was really nice to me, they all said" hello "and helped me if I had any questions, so it's a really nice place.
"Jürgen came to see me when I came in, so I'm really excited."
