Nigerian singer Victor AD refuted claims that he would have agreed to perform for free in order to receive a 3 Music Award.
Hitmaker "Weytin We Gain" was crowned "African Artist of the Year" at the 2019 edition of the event.
He defeated Wizkid, Davido, Cbadper Nyovest, Tiwa Savage, Burna Boy, Olamide and Eazi to win the award.
Just after receiving his plate, a microphone was given to him for the night.
This led some people to badume that the artist had exchanged his interpretation fees for a reward.
Victor AD, however, denied this badertion, insisting that he would never do such a thing.
"I do not know anything about it. I never thought I was going to win the prize anyway. When I got there, I had just been playing … the next thing I heard … Victor AD! … I was getting ready for a show and not for a price … Never!
The artist revealed that he enjoyed his moment on stage at the 3Music Awards and was pleased with the quality of hospitality that he received.
Victor AD announced that he was about to release songs featuring Kuami Eugene, Sister Afia, Teephlow and other groups.
He also said that he will soon undertake a European tour and will complete the preparation of an album.
