"The suicide attempt is not a criminal case. Nor is it a moral problem or a spiritual problem. It is simply a call for help to solve psychosocial problems. It is therefore a medical problem, "said the head of the Authority, Dr. Akwasi Osei.
Suicide remains a criminal offense, but the prosecution of suicidal persons is rare.
