Nabdam NaDMO deputy director Dominic Kulkong killed by gunmen at Pelungu market

The deputy director of the National Disaster Management Organization (NaDMO) in the Nabdam district was assassinated by three unidentified gunmen in the Haut-Est region.

The horrific incident reportedly took place at Pelungu market on Saturday February 27.

Mr. Dominic Kulkong, 31, was shot dead during a transaction at a local Mobile Money outlet.

Regional Police Command public affairs officer Deputy Superintendent David Fianko-Okyere, who gave confirmation of the murder, said police received a call reporting a theft incident around 7 p.m. on Saturday.

Upon his arrival, he said the thieves escaped and made way with ten mobile devices and a sum of GH ¢ 750 after attacking two stores in Pelungu market.

According to him, according to witness testimonies, the deputy director of NaDMO was shot dead while trying to flee after being ordered to get off a motorcycle and lie down on the ground.

Deputy Superintendent David Fianko-Okyere revealed that this armed gang after shooting Mr. Kulkong left the scene on an unregistered Apsonic motorcycle.

According to him, the three unidentified men who were engaged in a mobile money transaction were left unattended by the officer after sensing danger.

Several hours later, Mr. Kulkong who arrived to engage in a transaction met his untimely death.

Meanwhile, Dominic Kulkong’s remains were handed over to the family for burial.
