Nadeshiko Japan sits 3-1 against France in friendly matches before the World Cup

Japan lost 3-1 to France on Thursday in preparation for the FIFA Women's World Cup this summer in the European country.

Nadeshiko Japan, currently seventh in the world, won three and lost five of his matches against French No. 4 after the last defeat at the Stade de l'Abbé-Deschamps in Auxerre.

The Japan Football Federation said Japan, the 2011 World Cup champion, will face Germany, the world's second, next Tuesday, less than two months away from the World Cup.

Japan drew against England, Scotland and Argentina in Group D for the one – month tournament starting in June. Japan finished second behind the United States in the previous 2015 World Cup.
