NADMO (National Disaster Management Organization) has asked Ghanaians to disregard social media publications about a possible earthquake in Ghana.
The country's disaster management organization says these posts have no scientific basis.
Social media articles on Saturday announced an earthquake in some southern African countries.
They predicted that an event would be felt in Ghana between midnight and 3:30 am.
But NADMO says that this can not be true since "the earthquake can not be predicted".
"This can happen at any time without warning," he said in a statement released Saturday night.
"NADMO therefore wishes to inform the general public that this outstanding post has no scientific basis and should be ignored."
