Flood alert The Adabraka Sahara is one of the regions most affected by floods after rainfall in Accra

After heavy rains on Friday morning in Accra, NADMO (National Disaster Management Organization) deployed men to various locations to monitor and badist people who may be at risk of flooding.

NADMO's communications officer, George Ayisi, told Citi News that the organization had deployed its logistics in the flood zones to intervene if necessary.

Meanwhile, a circular from the Meteorological Agency warns the public to take the necessary precautions.

The rains resulted in the overflow of the Odaw River, causing flooding in the Adabraka Sahara.

Residents had to leave their rooms for security reasons as floodwaters flooded the area.

They had previously accused the government of failing to take responsibility for tackling the perpetual floods that are occurring in this part of the city.

The Adabraka Sahara is normally one of the areas most affected by floods after rainfall in Accra.

Residents said they would be forced to demonstrate against the government because of the situation and urged the authorities to settle the problem definitively.

The Nanakrom Bridge, which is regularly covered by rainwater, has not been able to withstand the rains.

The bridge region has seen at least two deaths after torrential rains this year.
