Nana Efua Rockson, a Certified Marketing Specialist, has been appointed Head of Communications and Public Relations at the Institute for Educational Planning and Administration (IEPA), a UNESCO Category II institute in the ‘University of Cape Coast.
Prior to joining IEPA, Nana Efua was Group Leader, Corporate Affairs and Digital Marketing at GLICO Group Ltd where she led brand development, communications (traditional and digital) and corporate reputation management for the six GLICO group companies.
She has also been a key person on the Public Relations, Events and Stakeholders Committees of the Ghana Insurance Association (GIA), where she brought her professional experience to bear on the deliverables of each committee; all of this culminated in the receipt of the “Unsung Hero Award (Insurance Category)” at the Ghana Insurance Awards 2020.
Nana Efua holds an MBA (Marketing) from the University of Leicester in the UK, a BA in Educational Psychology from the University of Cape Coast-Ghana and a Diploma in Public Relations and advertisement from Ghana Institute of Journalism.
She also obtained a Professional Postgraduate Diploma in Marketing from the Chartered Institute of Marketing, United Kingdom (CIM-UK), a Postgraduate Diploma in Digital Marketing from the African Institute of Technology & Entrepreneurship (AITE) / Chartered Institute of Marketing, Ghana (CIMG)), where she was named Top Student in Digital Marketing and Professional Diploma in Insurance from Ghana Insurance College, where she was named Top Student in Commercial Insurance.
Nana Efua has also participated in several courses and seminars such as Corporate Governance, Brand Management, Public Relations Protocols, Setting Standards in Corporate Social Responsibility Practice in Ghana, Managing events, among others.
Nana Efua is an accredited member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing, United Kingdom (CIM-UK), the Chartered Institute of Marketing Ghana (CIMG) and the Institute of Public Relations (IPR), Ghana.
She is also an Affiliate Member of the Chartered Insurance Institute of Ghana (CIIG).
An award-winning professional that she is, Nana Efua is passionate about marketing and she is committed to taking the IEPA brand to new heights to achieve her goal of stepping up short courses and other stakeholder engagements on contemporary education issues as well as engaging in research, capacity building and support for the development and planning of sectoral policies in the field of education in the West African sub-region

In November 2020, the IEPA officially became a UNESCO Category II Institute.
