The former Minister of Gender, Children and Social Protection, Nana Oye Lithur, promised to work hard for the National Democratic Congress (NEC) to resume the seat in the ruling party's Adenta parliament, the New Patriotic Party (NPP), in power.

She said the party's base, including branches and neighborhoods, must be endowed with resources to achieve a stellar victory in the 2020 general election.

Nana Oye made the comments after filing her nomination forms on Friday, July 19 to contest the NDC primaries scheduled for August 24, 2019.

Nana Oye is in the running with Mohammed Adamu Ramadan, who has contested but lost to Buabeng Asamoah of the NPP in the 2016 general election.

She told supporters and delegates of the party office in Adenta that she had entered the race after extensive consultations with party leaders, alumni, current and past cadres and former deputies, before taking the decision to challenge.

The former minister for the status of women said that the NDC had to recover the seat of Adenta, but this will only be possible if the base has the resources to embark on a real campaign for victory .

She promised to provide resources to all branches and neighborhoods for victory in the 2020 general election.

The Adenta constituency, she said, deserved a good leader who would lobby for development needs, saying that once elected to Parliament and subsequently winning the national elections, she would not neglect citizens, who have been neglected by the NPP.

She cited some of the national policies that she has implemented as a minister, as well as her experience as a lawyer and human rights activist.

The NDC parliamentary aspirant added that as a woman and mother, she appreciated the difficulties and would never return to her constituents given the knot.

While promising a campaign free of insults, insults and murder of character, the former Minister of Gender urged his supporters to make statements of quality, insults and personal attacks do not translate into votes.

Nana Oye also paid a glowing tribute to former members of the party in Adenta, including Kojo Adu Asare, Emmanuel Nii Ashie-Moore, former municipal leaders, Kakra Vanlar and Benjamin Angenu, as well as party and community leaders. its leaders for keeping their ideals in mind.
