REUTERS: Marek Hamsik's midfielder's move to a Chinese club has been delayed due to problems with "payment methods" for the transfer, the Serie A club said.

Napoli has not named the club, nor announced the duration of the suspension, although it still has time to reach an agreement with the transfer window opened in China until February 28. "The club has decided to defer the transfer of Marek Hamsik to China because the proposed payment methods for the agreed sum do not respect what had been agreed before," Napoli said in a statement posted on its website http: //www.sscnapoli.it/static/news/SSC-Napoli-statement-16890 .aspx.

Coach Carlo Ancelotti confirmed last week that the 31-year-old, who had left Slovan Bratislava for Naples, was in talks to leave the club after 12 seasons. According to media reports, he moved to Dalian Yifang.

The Slovak became the club's top scorer in December 2017 when he overtook Diego Maradona's 115-goal mark and revised Giuseppe Bruscolotti's total of 511 participations in November.

Hamsik, who has 121 goals for Napoli in all competitions, made his 520th appearance for the club in Saturday's 3-0 win over Sampdoria.
