Dear Nigerians,
Finally, we arrived on the eve of the first round of this year's general election.
2. Tomorrow polling stations are open. Tomorrow, we affirm that Nigeria is a democracy and that no worldly hand can prevent us from following this wise and appropriate path that we have chosen.
If democracy is the most advantageous way of choosing the leaders of a nation, it is far from being the easiest thing to achieve and maintain.

5. Thus, I congratulate you all for your patience and your peaceful conduct so far this election season, especially during the week following the postponement of the February 16 elections.
6. Many were worried and thought the worst could happen. You have proved them wrong by showing that you are a great people, attached to a constant love for peace, democracy and the unity of our country.
7. According to INEC's daily public briefings this week, the Electoral Commission has declared itself ready to organize the election in a free, fair and transparent manner.
8. I believe that the INEC realizes the deep and burdensome duty that falls on it.
9. We must put aside the doubt and be convinced that INEC will live up to the situation. We must believe and encourage the INEC to badume and honor its responsibility to our country.
10. As President, I hereby request all Nigerian Voter Card holders to participate in defining the future of our country by exercising your democratic rights tomorrow. I urge you to go out and vote.

15. Whatever our political tendencies, we all believe in Nigeria, the noble principles it upholds and the values we uphold for our beloved nation to defend them.
16. All who can do it must vote so that we can perfect that democracy and continue to build the great nation we seek.
17. Do not be afraid of rumors of violence and unrest. Our security agencies have worked diligently to ensure that adequate security measures are in place.
