The chief executive of the National Road Safety Commission (NRSC) is being attacked for hinting that other countries have fewer casualties than Ghana.

May Obiri-Yeboah, the director general of the National Road Safety Commission (NRSC) of March 25, 2019, in an interview with Joy FM, suggested that other countries had a worse road safety record than Ghana.

The defender of road safety sought to dispel fears that road accidents would become uncontrollable. She was also trying to defend the work of her outfit and the police.

She reportedly said: "Let's not focus on numbers – we have had a number of accidents, but do you know what other countries have experienced?"

As one would expect, Obiri-Yeboah's comments did not please many people on Twitter who did not fail to give him some of their wits.
