Medeama won his first match of the competition
Kwame Boateng scored against her former club, Asante Kotoko, to give Medeama a 1-0 win in the special standard committee game on Thursday.
The striker converted a 35th minute penalty to give his team their first win and condemn Kotoko to his first tournament loss.
Abbad Mohammed, who scored Kotoko's only goal in the win against Aduana last weekend, was penalized after stopping a goal-bound effort with his hand. He was dismissed by the referee.
This victory places Medeama above Kotoko in the Zone B standings. The Mauves and Yellows will go to the top if they win their match against Berekum Chelsea.
The next Medeama match will take place Sunday against Stallions FC, while Kotoko will face Eleven Wonders at Techiman.
