NCCE wants the victim of police brutality in Midland to be compensated

The National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE), expressed its disapproval of the wild beating of the NCCE. a woman by a police officer at the Midlands Savings and Loans Company, who was captured in a viral video

A statement by Ms. Joyce Afutu, director of communications and general affairs, said that the Commission stated "Horror and shock, a video circulating on the social media of a police officer badaulting a woman holding a baby that allegedly took place at a bank and condemns this barbaric act of police brutality in unambiguous terms."

He described the act as heinous, scandalous, unacceptable and an affront to the dignity and fundamental rights of the victim and the baby.

"This undermines our democracy and the rule of law. The cruelty and brutality of the police officer contravenes the provisions of the 1992 Constitution of the Republic of Ghana. "

The Commission therefore called the Ministry of the Interior, the Ghana Police Service and other appropriate agencies, She added that the victim should be compensated for the physical and psychological trauma she had suffered

"In our current democratic system, we must not allow such elements of society. The efforts of the police administration over the years to achieve high professional standards and world-clbad police services have been recognized by deviant police and deviant officers.
