Opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) South Tamale constituency leaders called on the police administration to properly investigate and punish officers involved in assaulting some constituency residents for theft of electricity presumed.

Subsequently, the police administration issued a statement on Tuesday announcing that it had banned the four police officers involved in the assault on residents and that they would be subject to a service investigation in accordance with service regulations. Ghana Police Department.
The NDC statement said: “We view the police action as rude and unprofessional.”
He said: “On the substantive issue of the theft of electricity, we do not subscribe to it and will take every opportunity to condemn and discourage such acts.”
