The opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) is calling for the resignation of Mr Bossman Asare, Vice-President of the Electoral Commission (EC).

The party claims that keeping him in office prevents them from trusting the Commission for the 2020 elections.

In fact, the NDC says its removal is crucial to maintaining the country's democratic stability, said its secretary general, Asiedu Nketia.

Sending to Evans Mensah about the PM Express Wednesday on the JOYNEWS channel, he stated that he had not yet seen any referees condemning a team before he embarked on a match featuring this team.

They accuse Dr. Asare of taking a biased stance towards the NDC when he publicly stated that the NDC poses a threat to Ghana's democracy.

"Let me explain very clearly … if there is anyone who becomes a threat or if you like an existential threat to democracy that we practice in our country, I would rather say that this was the posture of the NDC.

"Because since this new commission took office, we have noticed some of the things that have happened … we remember before the partial election of Ayawaso West Wuogon, the allegations were numerous that the voters register is inflated … ", he said on Citi FM.

According to him, the party also made many other allegations, so that he does not understand how the party would accuse Jean Mensa, president of the European Commission, of threatening the country's democracy.

By this comment, Mr. Asiedu Nketia states that Dr. Bossman is in conflict and is not fit to hold his position.

"He's put himself in a position that he can not trust any electoral decisions in this country and the sooner he leaves his post, the better it will be for the peace of the country."

"… The EC will be the referee; therefore, if the chairman of the council of deputies says that the NDC is a threat to democracy in Ghana, he would like to do everything so that the NDC does not come to power, otherwise we would destroy the democracy of the United States. country. That's the implication of what he said, "said Asiedu Nketia.

According to him, the electoral conflict being the main cause of conflict in the sub-region, it should be smothered.

"Some disputes will come from a lack of confidence in the administration of elections and other causes, but it is clear that the arbitrator has placed himself in a compromising position. it's hard for anyone in our party to trust Dr. Bossman, "he said.

The secretary general of the NDC said that if he did not resign, "he would not act from the NDC but to know whether Ghanaians will be certain that any statement from the EC will be respected".

But the Vice President of the European Commission said that he would not respond to allegations but would focus on a credible recording exercise.

Dr. Bossman stated that what he said was in context.
