More than a quarter of a million CDN delegates are expected to elect a flag bearer for the 2020 presidential election.
Ghanaian police have stepped up security at all polling stations in the country following the chaos that hit the bloody Ayawaso-West Wuogon by-election last month.
To monitor the voting process for each of the 275 constituencies, JoyNews has reporters across the country to monitor the behavior of voters and voting officials, while supporters of the vote decide the NDC flag bearer during the voting. 2020 presidential election.
In Bolgatanga, everything is going according to plan, according to JoyNews reporter Albert Sore. He explained that voters began arriving at the polls around 7 am Saturday morning and that the number of voters began to swell around noon.
The district election official said he expects 1112 people to go to the polls. At the time of Sore's reports, there were currently about 100 people.
He said that "the way things move, it may take longer than 19 hours for everyone to vote." He made the remark to suggest that the voting process was progressing slowly, but otherwise everything is under control.
At Techiman North, more than 1,500 people lined up to vote in a local polling station and the turnout reached over 100%.
"There is a lot of security but there have been no incidents," said Anas Sabit, who oversees the voting process in the constituency.
Sabit said that in the other polling stations in the region, the turnout was high. The reactions of the crowd seem to indicate that voters are keen to ensure that they have chosen the right candidates. No animosity or violence has been reported to Techiman North.

"I went to six ridings and I can tell you that the numbers have gone up at noon but the numbers are down," he told Cape Coast.
There have been only a few minor issues, including people coming without a voter ID card or national identity card, he said.

Nyarko added that security was top notch, people ranked in polling stations with NDC shirts. No complaints have been reported.
In Opra, Joseph Opoku Gapko said the vote was ongoing and peaceful. Out of a total of 1,230 delegates, 1,030 have voted to date, he said, adding that all polling stations had reinforced the police presence to ensure that violence does not undermine to the voting process.
"There were no problems," Opoku Gapko said.
When asked if there were any cases where the names of the candidates did not appear on the ballots, he replied that no one was reported. Although in other areas, including the Ashanti region, there have been more than 400 name alerts not appearing on the ballots.
