Supporters of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) have chosen to protest in the Ashanti region over the 2020 presidential results due to their dislike and hatred for locals.

“NDC hates the development in the Ashanti region. They don’t like people and because of this hatred they burn tires in the streets of Kumasi and cause destruction, ”said Ashanti Regional Minister Simon Osei-Mensah, in reaction to the recent protest in the city. region.

Protesters attempted to burn car tires outside Jubilee Park in Kumasi, a move that nearly ruined the otherwise peaceful march in protest against the results of the 2020 polls.

Speaking about the unfortunate development on Kumasi-based Akoma FM monitored by MyNewsGh.com, the regional security chairman issued a stern warning to protesters.

“Why are they demonstrating in the Ashanti region? Has the presidential election been declared here? They should go to Accra to demonstrate or go to court ”, Hon. Simon Osei-Mensah is fuming.

NDC protesters almost clashed with military and police forces during last Sunday’s protest in Kumasi.

It was the second time in a week that the biggest opposition party took to the streets of Kumasi over the declared election results.

The march was led by some regional and national party leaders.

The NDC has pledged to continue the protests until the Ghana Election Commission (EC) overturns the results of the just concluded election and declares the same in favor of their leader, John Dramani Mahama.
